Dutch Plantin is committed to long-term relationships. That’s also true when it comes to our effort to support charities. Since a few years we have embraced the good cause of Udavum Karangal in India.

Important work

Recently Dutch Plantin visited Udavum Karangal in Coimbatore India again, nearby one of the biggest production locations of Dutch Plantin. “The foundation offers shelter, care and education to more than 2,500 people”, says Jos van Doren, director of Dutch Plantin and sister company Van Doren Engineers. “For instance under privileged children, children with learning disabilities or special needs, and vulnerable people like elderly or people who are sick.”

Helping hands

Founder Steven Vidyaakar showed Dutch Plantin around in their shelter for adults, a children’s home and a primary school for underprivileged children. Udavum Karangal is Tamil for ‘helping hands’. “We could see with our own eyes how important the work of Udavum Karangal is”, says Jos van Doren. “That’s why we want to help out and support the people of Udavum Karangal. And we are committed to do so, not only for now but also in the future.”
