Boekel, 5 March 2014 – On March the 1st, Dutch Plantin with its headquarters in Boekel (the Netherlands) and Coimbatore (India) was crowned ‘Coir pith exporter of the year’. Initiated by the The Govt. of India, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), this award highlights Dutch Plantin as the largest exporter of coir pith products with superior quality.

Siby Joseph, Managing Director of Dutch Plantin in India, was presented this prestigious award by The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh and the Union Minister for MSME Sri. K.H Muniyappa.

Recognition
Dutch Plantin feels honoured by the title. “It shows that our strategy works: we continuously strive towards superior quality,” according to Siby Joseph. “We would like to thank the Indian Government, the MSME, the Coir Board including its chairman Prof. G. Balachandran and naturally, all of our customers. I would also like to thank all of the Dutch Plantin employees, without whose input and support this would never have been possible.”

Quality Assurance
The Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry has previously awarded Dutch Plantin India with the ‘Export House’ certificate. Dutch Plantin holds the Dutch RHP quality mark as a label for its coir pith products, as well as the Swiss IMO-certificate which assures eco-friendly, environmentally-friendly and socially responsible products.
