An existing pepper grower switched from rockwool to Dutch Plantin coco substrate last year. The substrate was installed in November, making this the grower’s first crop on coco.
Although changing substrates initially felt like a major step, the grower is already experiencing the benefits. The coco substrate is considered more forgiving and supports balanced crop development, with a good balance between vegetative and generative growth.
The first results have given the grower confidence. Satisfaction with the crop and substrate performance led to a new order being placed in April.
