Wereldwijd gebruiken professionele kwekers onze kokossubstraten voor de teelt van zachtfruit, groente, bloemen en planten. En daar komen nu twee nieuwe groepen bij: de kleinschalige producenten \u00e9n thuistelers. Met onze splinternieuwe lijn Grow.in richten we ons op de retail- en consumentenmarkt voor uiteenlopende soorten planten. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Kleinschalige telers gaan voor kwaliteit<\/strong>
\nHet aantal kleinschalige en thuistelers gaat door het dak. In Nederland en Europa, maar ook in bijvoorbeeld Noord-Amerika. Volgens Wim Roosen van Dutch Plantin komt dat mede doordat de lokale voedselproductie overal is toegenomen. \u201cThuistelers en kleinschalige producenten besteden daarbij ook steeds meer aandacht aan kwaliteit. En zien de voordelen van kokos. Niet voor niets kregen wij bij Dutch Plantin steeds vaker de vraag of we ook kleinere verpakkingen kunnen leveren. Met Grow.in kunnen we nu aan die vraag voldoen.\u201d<\/p>\n

De voordelen van Grow.in<\/strong>
\nDe voordelen van kokos in vergelijking met bijvoorbeeld turf, veen of de volle grond? Wim Roosen: \u201cKokos kan uitstekend vocht vasthouden en het teveel afvoeren. Zo krijg je kwalitatief goede planten, ook zonder de technische installaties die grote, professionele telers gebruiken. Verder is het heel makkelijk in gebruik. En duurzaam.\u201d<\/p>\n

Drie typen producten
\n<\/strong>Met Grow.in bieden we drie verschillende typen kokosproducten. Twee daarvan zijn gebufferd (bemest met calcium) en gewassen. Dit ready-to-use kokosgruis is los verkrijgbaar: in zakken van 50 liter of geperst in blokken van 4,5 kilogram, verkrijgbaar in drie grofheden. Met zo\u2019n blok maak je 50 tot 60 liter potgrond. De derde variant is vooral bedoeld voor de grotere hobbykwekers: gewassen kokos, niet gebufferd. Dit bieden we aan in blokjes en als growpot. \u201cMet ongebufferd substraat kunnen telers eventueel zelf kiezen voor een biologische plantenvoeding\u201d, legt Wim uit. \u201cDaar is vooral in Noord-Amerika veel vraag naar.\u201d<\/p>\n
