Kokos wordt alom toegepast bij de teelt van zacht fruit, zoals aardbeien, frambozen, bramen en rode bessen. Waar de aardbeienteelt veelal gebruikmaakt van 100% kokosgruis, kiezen de telers van ander zacht fruit vaak voor een grover en luchtiger mengsel waaraan kokosvezels of kokoschips zijn toegevoegd. In 2011 en 2012 hebben we in samenwerking met DLV Plant speciale proeven opgezet bij KICK in Randwijk, om te onderzoeken of er verschillen zijn tussen beide mengsels.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Geperste kokosproducten<\/strong>
\nIn het buitenland zien we dat kwekers in toenemende mate kiezen voor geperste<\/strong> kokosproducten van Dutch Plantin. Denk daarbij aan de speciale briketten, maar ook aan de growbags die gebruikelijk zijn voor de teelt van aardbeien. Deze growbags zijn iets grover van structuur dan de losse kokos die in Nederland wordt gebruikt.<\/p>\n

Open dag bij KICK<\/strong>
\nOp dit moment zijn we druk bezig om de verschillen in de teeltresultaten te onderzoeken. Eind dit jaar brengen we onze bevindingen in kaart en worden ze gepresenteerd. Op 16 augustus kwamen ge\u00efnteresseerden de proeven al eens met eigen ogen bekijken tijdens de open dag en avond bij KICK. Hieronder een aantal sfeerbeelden van dit geslaagde evenement.<\/p>\n
