Making the world a better place. At Dutch Plantin, we understand this entails more than just promoting the use of sustainable coconut products. In India, where our main production facility is located, we also support initiatives that contribute to a better or easier life for the weakest groups in society.

Helping Hands in a country where proper care is not a given

Years ago, Dutch Plantin was introduced to the Udavum Karangal (Helping Hands) Foundation. Just like our production facility, this foundation is located in Coimbatore in India. In a country where proper health care is not available to everyone, this organisation advocates for the weakest groups in society: orphans, the homeless elderly and poor mothers and their children. With our latest donation of € 4,500, the foundation was able to complete the construction of the new hospital, the Community Health Care Center – Gayathri Hospital this year. The money was also used to furnish its mother-and-child unit with furniture and medical equipment. “It was a great moment when we celebrated the inauguration,” the president of the Foundation wrote when he e-mailed us the photos of the festive opening.
