Raspberry growers succeed with compressed coir briquettes
Already for some years now UK growers are happy working with coir briquettes of Dutch Plantin. It is easy putting the bricks of approx. 7 ltr into the pots at the field, expand them with a starter solution and then it is ready to plant. We put approx. 1850 pieces per pallet and with 20 pallets in a 40ft container you get coir to fill up 37.000 pots. If you use potted propagated plants (1,8-2 ltr) you just leave 1 pot empty every 3-4 pots. Easy, fast & cheap.
